The Glories of Creation are in Your Very Cells

There is a book titled, Becoming like God, by Michael Berg. Years ago, I showed it to a group of people at a church, and they became offended and sneered. Many used words like blasphemous, arrogance, and impossible to describe that book title. Imagining the prospect of becoming like God was deemed as a preposterous proposal by an arrogant author.

Most people continue to believe that it is impossible for weak humans to be like God. I used to believe that too, but my life was miserable then.

Once I began believing and experiencing in my being that I am a part of the Supreme Being, regardless of my failures and frailties, my life changed.

My worthiness or lack thereof has nothing to do with me being part of God. Most people forget that. They think they are unworthy of God. Change that thinking and watch your life change.

We are partners with God, not panhandlers begging from a distant and miserly deity for a few morsels of blessings. We are fully blessed already. We are born blessed. It is written into our DNA as we are formed in our mother’s womb.

When God created us, He was creating mini gods, which is so hard for us to believe. But that is the truth. Until you believe that in your mind and experience that in your heart, you will feel alone and alienated on this planet, and you will try every trick, take every short cut, engage in every trauma, and entertain every drama to alleviate the pain of that alienation.

“A human being is a mini-God, a micro-theos who has been created in order to participate in the divinity of God”, says spiritual writer Matthew Fox.

The whole purpose and meaning of human life is to manifest that divine imprint by living with the miracle of the universe and living into the mystery of God. As Deepak Chopra beautifully puts it:

“In the cosmic design, you are safe and cared for. Be not content with your lot in life, but with being here in the flow of life. The glories of creation are in your very cells; you are made of the same mind stuff as the angels, the stars and God himself.”

The famous Indian spiritual teacher, Satya Sai Baba was once asked by a reporter: “Are you God?”

Without missing a beat and with no hesitation, he said: “Yes, I am.”

Everyone around him seemed stunned.

After a brief pause, Baba continued: “And so are you; the only difference between you and me is that I know it and you doubt it.”

For me, this story has been a powerful mental shapeshifter regarding my spiritual identity.
